Developers state real estate interest

Vietnamese business people have expressed interest in investing in Myanmar’s property market, a Myanmar Real Estate Association (MREA) spokesperson said last week.

U Sai Khung Noung, secretary of the association, said Vietnamese property investors and MREA members met twice in Yangon on June 20 and 21 to discuss furthering business cooperation.

“The members from the Vietnamese side included developers, construction material manufactures and real estate agents. They said developers are interested in investing in large housing projects here.

“But we still have to discuss how to go about performing these joint ventures and no contracts have been signed yet,” he said. U Sai Khung Noung added that the visiting developers inspected several areas around Yangon such as Hlaing Tharyar where many large plots are available for housing projects and also expressed interest in industrial zone development.
